Hello,

This is a first for me! I've been approached by the Trust's fund raising dept re: hloding a fun run in Hospital grounds. I've got some ideas as to issues to be considered but wondered whether anyone out there has any advice they could give me.

The roads are public owned and I assume council & police should be approached, plus we should have medical support, refresher stations, establish insurance requirements, complete risk assesments. Is there anything else you can help me with?

Thanks very much

Jane

Hi Jane,
I know the HSE have guidance on 'safety at sports grounds'and 'the event safety guide' which I believe although not specifically aimed at what you're after may have some useful info you could use failing that have you thought of contacting other organisations which have carried out similar activities to seek their advice?

I seem to remember from when I had responsibility for some football pitches that any injury on your premises resulting in a member of the public being taken to hospital must be reported under RIDDOR.

Used to play hell with my accident figures!
