Posted By Stuart James Gornall My wife works on a supermarket checkout for a large company with scant regard for health and safety. Recently the company changed the work process from manually keying in the prices to scanning the product. This involves repetitive movement of the upper arms. Subsequently several employees have developed various upper limb disorders ranging from tennosynivitis to carpal tunnel syndrome. My wife is now starting to display several symptoms.After several requests the company have done nothing to help aleviate the situation.I have contacted the relevant enforcing authority who are curently investigating the complaint. However to put the pressure on I am carrying out my own research in order to try to get the company to provide a safe working environment. I just wonder if anybody has come across a similar situation and could provide anything that could help. This is a serious situation which is directly affecting somebody close to me as well as many others.
