Does any one know of any information sites on lasers used for entertainment i.e. nightclub or open air entertainment. I'm trying to write an advice paper but I have failed to come up with any useful information in my endeavours so far. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks in Advance.

What you need is HSG95 The Radiation Safety of Lasers for Display Purposes. ISBN 0717606910, £10 from HSE books.

This is specifically aimed at the application you are describing

Unless the person using your guidance and HSG95 has experience of laser power calculations I would suggest you write in to your document that any calculations or assumptions provided by the laser operator should be checked by a laser expert.

I know from my own experience that some laser operators do on occasions get it wrong.

Also the Civil Aviation Authority has published new guidance which requires them to be informed in writing of any outdoor laser, firework or searchlight display 28 days before the event.

The guidance is numbered CAP 736 and can be downloaded from the CAA website.
