Posted By Marie Beech I work with a team of advisors provising environmental advice to businesses, which involves visiting a variety of different companies and hence sites. What would a risk assessment need to cover? I presume that we are not required to complete one for each site visit. If anyone could shed light on this it would be appreciated.
Thanks Marie

Posted By Calum Cameron MIOSH Dip 2.OSH MaPS In truth, you are required to carry out an RA for each site as each site will be different and hopefully the specific site induction will take care of the detail. The specific hazards should be notified to you if you are entering someone elses site so you can do the assessment for the works you carry out. Get in touch if you require any more assistance. You should be able to create a general assessment that identifies typical issues - there are standard lists of hazards avauilable, and tehn simply tweak the assessment for specific risks on each site. It would also pay you to ask clients if there are any specific site risks that you need to be aware of prior to the visit. additionally you could give your staff basic safety / hazards spotting training so that they could identify haz\ards on site and work around them.
