Schools: "Exchange" of pupils between parents & teachers at beginning & end of school day

Posted By Steven John Nelson Is there any advice &/or recognised custom & practice out there on this ? It is common practice to decrease the level &/or closeness of the "supervision" & this exchange, which is particularily important at the end of the school day, as children get older. For instance, I suggest that nursery/reception kids are handed over one-by-one to parents -or person known to the teacher & /or authorised by parents at the end of their school day, whilst [most] children >8 yrs old are no closely supervised on leaving the classroom/school to rendezvous with their parents.

Posted By Jerry Hill I'd suggest you have a look at either the Local Education Authorities website of that of the DfES. Both of these sites may well contain specific health and safety advice for teachers. It's a really grey area of H&S isn't it? Hope this helps
