Posted By sue cotten Does anyone have any information on potential hazards and risks associated with an operative fitted with a pacemaker working in a warehouse. The only hazards I can think of is the battery changing area, and maybe the magnetic narrow aisle speed restrictors. Obviously we are very keen not to miss out on a hazard that might put the operative at risk. We are seeking additional advice from the hospital.

Posted By Hilary Charlton There is a lot of information on the web - I have had to look this up because we use about 250k rare earth magnets a year and access to parts of our factory is banned for people who have pacemakers as high electromagnetic fields can reset pacemakers to factory settings (same for AEDs allegedly). However, I cannot comment on your particular question as I have not really had to come into contact with this. Suggest a search on "electromagnetic fields pacemakers" and you will find a wealth of information which should help you out. Hilary
