Posted By Peter MacDonald I am involved in the demolition of disused service stations throughout the UK. Part of the work is the removal of soil contaminated over time with petrol and diesel leaks and spills from the storage tanks. We have thorough safe systems of work including gas monitoring, the selection and wearing of PPE and minimising direct contact with the soil manually (other than to take samples). I am keen carry out some type of background monitoring and would be grateful if anyone could pass on details on Exposure and Action levels or specific monitoring plans for similar scenarios. Basically I want to be able to prove the conditions over a period of time for future records. Thanks Peter
