Posted By Nick Higginson We are looking to provide a stress counselling service to our employees, and I have a couple of queries:
1. What qualifications etc. should we be looking for from prospective companies?
2. Can anyone recommend a particular company?
Kind regards
Nick

Posted By Jack Nick, I would suggest Counsellors should be accredited by the The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) See: http://www.bacp.co.uk/They can assist with providing information on provision in particular areas Jack

The answer largely depends on the tasks you specify for the counselling service. The range of options include counsellors registered with the BACP, the UKCP and the BPS as well as Employee Assistance Programmes which have their own processes of third party validation (of them).
I have worked as a counsellor with 4 EAPS and particularly recommend Validium as the one which treats its counsellors most decently and supportively.
