Hi All,
We currently have tilers tiling bathrooms in one of our projects- would anyone have any suggestions on the types of gloves there would be available out there for tilers using adhesives and also offer protection from the sharp edges of the tiles?
The tilers are complaining that most gloves are too bulky to allow them to use the tile cutter.
We also want to avoid any that may cause alergies.
Thanks in advance.

Ansell Edmont do some very thin nitrile gloves. They are mechanically very tough but I don't know what their resistance would be to the adhesive. The web address is www.ansell.be

Liam,
We have just completed a trial with a glove from a company called Globus, who import from Japan, the range of gloves is "Showa". The type we used in the trial has a nitrile coating to the palms and top & bottom of the fingers. The remainder is a breathable material, Showa 350R Nitrile Grip Glove.
Our personnel found them to be comfortable, prevented cuts of the type tilers would experience (we are handling sheet steel), allowed good dexterity to the extent of being able to write whilst wearing the glove, and above all for us, work out cheaper in the long term against standard "rigger" gloves.
Globus are on 01625 58 44 22.
By the way, I am in no way connected with Globus but pass on this info for your consideration.
Regards
David

I would also recommend Globus Showa gloves.
I have used the Showa KV660 which has a kevlar lining (cut resistance) and has good resistance to most chemicals whilst retaining a reasonable level of dexterity for this type of task.
