Work commenced on moving a pole some time ago outside my home and was abandoned for some reason. Operatives have left the pavement open with a hole of about a metre deep covered by a wooden pallet with approx half a ton of rubble next to it. I did some work experience with my local authority some tiem ago. and their HSO was adamant that if it was taking place on council property, i.e. the highway, they would make sure it was done properly. After all, if BT had finished the job, and left it uneven, any one tripping or falling would sue the council - it is then up to the council to chase BT Laurie
