Posted By John Morran Wonder if anyone can give me some help? I agreed to undertake some training courses on behalf of an organisation but it has recently pulled out of the agreement, citing that two weeks is its normal period of notice for withdrawing, without the need to recompense the trainer. Whilst realising any period can be stipulated and agreed, I was wondering what the "normal" period of notice might be and the associated scale of financial recompense, as I am of the opinion that two weeks is far too short a notice period without any form of compensation.

Posted By Delwynne Trying not to be too unhelpful, it very much depends on what expenses have been incurred by the trainer and what agreement was in place with the organisation. If the trainer had incurred cancellation costs for a venue, purchased materials specific for the course, etc I think they would be entitled to expect recompense, however it will, as I said, depend on the terms and conditions of the agreement made between the two parties.
