With so many of you out there possibly promoting new access equipment and conscious of Reg 6 C(HSW)R and the impending new work at heights pressure.
I was wondering if any of you have been involved with the use of podium steps and could give me some pointers. They look like a great idea, but I have just a few concerns with regards to lack of BSEN or useful data on stability. Especially should operatives handle materials outside of the handrail area changing the C of G.
Your comments will be most useful before I recommend buying a substantial number for our maintenance division.
Thanks you
Ian

Posted By Mark Gibson I have just purchased 2 sets from SGB for work on London Underground. The stablility is excellent on them as they have front and back supports once erected. For the steps to tip to either side the operative would really have to go for it to make them tip over.
Hope this helps.

Posted By Les Cardy I have bought quite a few podium steps units now for our drylining company. They hold massive advantages for us in terms of safety and access plus all the main contractors are now stipulating their use on their sites esp hospitals and more commercial sites. We get ours through a company called Sitebox Ltd who do 3 different sizes. If you have a look at www.sitebox.biz you will see images of them.
