Posted By peter gotch Richard, The F stands for functional. See http://www.cfse.org/ The reason you have heard of it is possibly explained on this US organisation's website Australian Alliance with the IICA: he CFSE Governance Board is pleased to announce its mutual cooperation agreement with the Institute of Instrumentation Control and Automation Australia (IICA). Through this agreement, the IICA will promote the CFSE qualification and collect applications. In return, all IICA members who apply for the CFSE will be granted an AU$50 discount on application and test fees. This will also support both organisations ongoing efforts to improve the practice of safety, measurement instrumentation and control for the benefit of their members and the broader industrial community. More information on the IICA itself can be found on their website, www.iica.org.au. Regards, Peter
