Posted By Liam Nolan Hi, Does any one have any information on a structured approach to Emergency Planning? Or possible a training company in Ireland that runs courses of this type? I am doing some emergency planning already, but am basicly using my common sense (no smart answers need apply on this point :-) ), but would like to a formal type of EP. If anyone has any referance web sites that I could read (or download stuff from) on this subject I would be much obliged. I want to do more than just get a few phone numbers together, if you know what I mean. Liam

Posted By Gary May For professional EP training - the uk centre of excellence is the Emergency Planning College - Easingwold - see www UK resilience. The introduction / fundementals of emergency planning course will give you the basics and also stimulate you for future study. As an emergency planning officer you never know everything and you continue to learn. Good Luck Gary May Health & Safety - Emergency Planning Officer Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council

Posted By Liam Nolan Hi, Thanks for the responses. I am more interested in industrial EP, not Local Authority (unless the process is the same or very similar). Please also remember I am in Ireland so UK collages are not going to be a real option for me, unless it is distance learning. Thanks again

Posted By Margaret Baxter Have you looked at the distance learning package on Emergency Planning Management offered by Leicester University? 2 year course. Try www.leicester.ac.uk then look up the Graduate Office and it should be listed.
