Can anybody give me some advice on calculating the amount of people (adults)that can be in a classroom area. I have looked at the welfare regs and they say that the "11 cubic metre rule" does not apply to rooms for lectures, meetings or similar purposes, does this include a classroom? and if it does, how do you calculate how many 'bodies' can be in there before it is too crowded?
Your thoughts will be much appreciated!

Hi Terry
1.8m2 is the area per stundent workplace for teaching in informal groups (design note 37) but this can sometimes be difficult to achieve due to shape of room desk size etc. I often use 2.5m2 which relates to "teaching with demonstration facilities. Hope this info helps.
