I would like to request the readers of this forum to advise me as to where can I get a copy of EMS Standards and whether these standards are globally applicable or in certain specific countries. Iam in Australia and whether the standards are same or different in every country.

I would imagine the standards are very similar as they are international standards,

As far as the UK is concerned the British Standards Institute is probably the best place to contact.

These numbers are for the management systems section.

You have to buy then from BSI. Copyright is quite strict which is why no one is coming forward with photocopies.
Try www.bsi-global.com for info and tell your boss to put his hand in his pocket. They aren't that expensive.

Go straight to the ISO website and order youself a PDF copy. There are a series of standards and you may benefit from the information in all of them. Nip down to a good local library first and read a copy.

Yes, ISO 14001 is an International Standard and is based on the ISO 9001 Quality Standards. I have a useful powerpoint that I can send you if you wish. Let me know.
