Posted By John Mann I would be interested in people's opinion as to what height fire extinguishers should be mounted. A web search has found 0.75m, 1m and even 1.5m handle height all quoted as standard.

Posted By Peter Batty John BS5306 part8 Selection and installation of portable fire extinguishers Ð Code of practice States in Para 7.2. 7.2 Mounting Small extinguishers with a total weight up to and including 4 kg should be mounted so as to position the handle about 1.5 m from the floor but the carrying handle of larger, heavier extinguishers should be about 1 m from the floor. Care should be taken to ensure that a heavy extinguisher does not itself cause injuries by being dislodged and falling onto limbs or bodies. Extinguishers installed under conditions where they are subject to dislodgement should be installed in specifically designed brackets. Extinguishers sited in schools require extra thought to avoid such accidents and the use of recessed housings should be considered. Any mounting bracket used should conform to BS EN 3-5, clause 6. Hope this helps Peter
