Posted By BrianTodd Is anyone aware of any pertinent safety issues/guidelines/regulations for the transport of chemical samples? My company needs to send some chemical samples of-site for analysis. The samples are small in size(only a few hundred micrograms). Basically, I want to know if there is a need to include anything more than the necessary safety data sheets for the chemicals and marking the containers suitably. Any advice would be much appreciated as I've been trawling the web and our safety guidelines for information and have come up empty handed.

Posted By Chris Lloyd Brian,
the CHIP Regulations should give you some guidance on how materials should be packaged and labeled.
Depending on how the samples are to be transported, the courier firm you use should be able to offer some guidance. I would'nt just send it via royal mail (this is NOT a slur on the GPO!!)
Hope this is some help

I would be happy to discuss by phone (020 7679 2282) - or email me if more convenient.
