Posted By Kevin Paul Clarke Can anyone advice me on the best direction to look for information on how long we should keep records of various inspections etc....apart from the obvious dictated too by statutory legislation....its the record keeping of inspections for machinery, lifting equipment, PPE issue records etc. that i am more interested in. How long should we keep records of inspections for plant/machinery/equipment...PPE or other items of safety equipment?
Thank you for your assistance

Posted By Roger the Dodger I keep general safety reports for 3yrs - because this is the time limit for filing personal injury claims. Although longer term occupational health issues might get missed by this - due to the application of the 3yrs from date of knowledge rule.
Lifting equipment - guidance will be in the LOLER regs, from memory its 2 years and/or next inspection of the equipment.
