Posted By Smurfer My organisation is a sports club which employs a couple of 'elderly' gentlemen in a safety role which potentially could include manual handling of persons in an emergency. I have been asked to set up a review process whereby we can have an annual assessment of our employees fitness to continue in their role. Does anyone have any pointers as to how to go about this (checklist/form/advice/etc)- we are a members-only sports club and only employ these guys to cover our on-the-water activities in a rescue boat. As a guide for replies, I am helping (as a club member who is a H&S professional) the club to update it's H&S system.

Posted By Smurfer Does anybody have a form of words which I could use to indicate that we have assessed their 'fitness for duty'?

Posted By Neil Pearson You could approach a provider of occupational health services - there are tons of them about. If you need a couple of ideas email me and I'll suggest a couple.
