I am trying to write a policy on car use. Our staff use there own cars for work(of wich they are paid milage and a car use allowance). The work involves transporting clients to and from hospital, post offices, shops and picking up clients with luggage etc. Does anyone have a policy I could look at that includes health and safety issues relating to the use of staffs own cars? I can not seem to find anything on this.
Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon,
I've sent you our document which includes some stuff on what we see as being staff's duties when they're using their own cars, it is a problem area and one that it is hard to resolve entirely satisfactorily,

Would you mind sharing that with me too as I too am trying to promote safety awareness off site and on the roads.

Hi Dw,
Sent it; much of the guidance and material in it is from Brake www.brake.org.uk and RoSPA www.rospa.com, but I guess you've already looked at them,

Don't forget to take a look at the HSE document INDG 382 "Driving at Work, Managing Work Related Road Safety".
PS John, can I have a look at your document?
I'll send you an e-mail request.
