Recently I have been told that some tall members of staff are not happy with the height of the kitchen sinks. When I went to have a look I also found that even at 5 foot nothing small, I too would have to bend over into the sink. The staff who have complained spend a lot of time using the sinks so I know I need to do something very quickly. I am currently looking into several options, such as inserts for the sink, possibility of different height sinks etc
Just interested to know if anyone has had a similar problem and what they have done about it?
Thanks
Lisa

The following guidelines were proposed by a safety group. They are not necesarily gospel or scientific.
A confortable KITCHEN sink height is usually one that comes within the height of the hip joint and the top of the hip bones (illiac crest)this allows support for leaning into the sink and allows bending at the waist. Depth of the sink should be such as to allow the bottom to be reached by a clenched fist while standing upright. This allows grasping of objects at the bottom of the sink without unnecessary bending or stretching. OUR kitchen sink is 86cm high and has a depth of 15cm. My wife says it looks better on me than it does on her.

Hi Lisa,
Had exactly this problem and what we did was put a second bowl upside down under the washing up bowl to raise the working height for those staff who needed it. You can get lift/lower sinks, but in my experience people don't bother using these,
