Posted By John Beadle The "Eiger deck" has been named in a method statement as a means of access to install sheets on a roof. Any information on this equipment would be welcomed John

Posted By Tony Bough It probably means 'Easi-Dec' - a quick erect scaffold system.

Posted By Anthony Elsmore John Call this a semi-educated guess. Eiger- deck is probably a trade name for crawler boards with inbuilt handrails, also known as 'span-decks'. These are used to span the roof purlins and allow sheeting to be fixed within a 'safe' area. Cheers Ant

Posted By Stuart Nagle Whilst on this subject, I would be interested to hear from anyone with information on a deck & staging system I saw in use at the the front of a house for window installation. The deck & staging appeared to be a 'lean-to' type - constructed of what looked like aluminium scaffold thickness poles, that provided a fold-down type of deck at first floor level that allowed chaps to work off it to fit windows etc and was leant against the building frontage, providing easy and quick erection and removal. The whole thing appeared to a specifically manufactured unit for this purpose and was being used by a local authority housing contractor. Any info would be much appreciated... Stuart
