As a contractor we have our HSE policy statement,HSE plans,we have internal audits,HSE induction training, investigation of incidents / accidents procedures etc. Is there anything else I am missing as a contractor which I need to / can demonstrate in HSE.
How / should, would the client monitor the performance of any given contractor apart from audits and monthly statistics etc please ?

Sonu:
Demonstrate:
Evidence of adequate insurances (PI/PLI/ELI)
Evidence of adequate resources (Staff numbers, experience, qualifications(esp industry standard certificates eg PTS etc) / specialist advisory resource)
Enforcement history
Site- or job- specific risk assessments / method statements / Project execution plans ... it depends on the nature of the contract.
Monitoring:
Routine meetings (site / weekly / monthly... it depends on the type of contract...)
Close out meetings
Client satisfaction surveys
And so and and so forth... So much depends on the nature and scale of the contracts and of the client group...

The office of government commerce www.ogc.co.uk have some very good client evaluation criteria documents available as pdf download - I think ogc10 was a good one.
This is what the Government is promoting as good practice in client evaluation, so perhaps you as a contractor could use it for self-evaluation.
Further to previous postings, many clients look for the added security of membership of recognised trade body, quality assurance accreditation, and UK evaluation schemes such as CHAS (CHAS web site might be worth a look)
Other areas include continuing training and competency evaluation of your staff, and how you in turn assess and control any sub-contractors you use.
