Posted By Martin Taylor Hiya can anybody advise me on best practice for stacking stillages (steel containers - differing sizes but most approx 1mx2mx2m) in a warehouse environment. The stillages are fitted with interlocking cups and feet to make stacking one on top of the next secure but we do not have clear guidance on seperation distances between adjacent rows, necessity for seperation barriers between rows, and maximum stack heights. This is a very common way of accumulating warehouse stock where pallet racking is not used so there must be some guidance on best practice I can draw on. The article in this month SHP concerning a fatal accident in 2002 when a stack of 4 similar stillages collapsed has focused my mind to do something about our present arrangements. thanks to anybody that can help Martin
