Usually 1.2m is quoted for fire lanes etc for disabled people - so I would guess a door would at least the same.

Hi,francis

if it is a single access door you cant go more than 1m other wise it will be to heavy to hang,
this is also acceptable by most if not all L.A's
for wheel chair access.

Straight on (no turn or oblique approach) >750mm
90deg from access route at least wide 1500mm >750mm
90deg from access route at least wide 1200mm >775mm
90deg from access route at least wide 900mm >800mm
The minimum width with above should only beused in unadvoidable circumstances. for the preferred width add 50mm to the minimum.
Hope this is of some use.

Don't forget that if you base your opening on standard door sizes you "loose" some of the open width from the thickness of the door at the hinge end, and from the frame. These are both greater for fire doors. So a 2'6" (760mm) door will leave only approx 710mm clear opening.
