Posted By gburgess Afternoon all. Could you provide me with any advice on how you manage the lifting of kerb stones. Do you use kerb lifters? Do you manually handle at any times? If so what are your SSOW? What kerb lifters do you recommend? Thanks Greg

Posted By Samantha Fisher Back in Feb 2004 the HSE issued a letter to all local authorities regarding kerb lifting and requirements with regard to moving to mechanical handling. They had got a number of interested parties together from clients, consultants and contractors and put together a timescale of moving from manual to mechanical handling. This varied depending on whether it was new works or maintenance and the length of kerb run. I will try and email the letter to you.
