Help,
I am looking for the legislation (if any) that requires companies to put weight labels on goods to be delivered. The items in question weigh in excess of 40kgs.
Can anyone point me in the right direction

Assuming you can't reduce the weight of the load by specifying smaller package sizes then:
Manual handling regs 92:
Every employer shall:
4.1 b Where it is not reasonably practicable to avoid the need for his employees to undertake any manual handling operations at work which involve a risk of their being injured –
(iii) take appropriate steps to provide any of those employees who are undertaking any such manual handling operations with general indications and, where it is reasonably practicable to do so, precise information on…. the weight of each load, and…. the heaviest side of any load whose centre of gravity is not positioned centrally.
The guidance accompanying the regs suggests (at para 174): Where it is reasonably practicable, employers should give precise information. For employers whose businesses originate loads (manufacturers, packers etc) the simplest way of providing this information is by marking it on the loads.
Hope this is the info you're looking for.
