In practice, what is the difference between the requirements of The Pressure Systems Safety Regs 2000 and the Pressure Equipment Regs 2002?

Only one of them actually exists....
The Press ure Eqpt Regs are dated 1999. They were amended in 2002, not re-issued.
But being a bit less pedantic for a moment.
It's analagous to the difference between the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regs (=Pressure Eqpt Regs) and PUWER (=PSSR).
PE Regs relate more to the requirements for design & construction of systems to be put on the European market. PSSR is more to do with installation, testing, maintenance, mandatory examination, etc once the system is in use.

Good analogy, I must remember that one.
I believe that it's a bit deepr than that as it also requires explicit competent persons to draw up the equivalent of the Safe System of Work - the Writen Scheme of Examination!
