We are having a database designed by an external contractor.
Is there a minimum/maximum 'font' size when setting up the data entry screens.
If no legal limits - any advice on guidelines/best practice.
Thanks

The DSE Regs merely state that characters on the screen should be well-defined and clearly formed. You will need to take into account the visual acuity of the users. Font sizes are usually easily changed within your software (Excel or whatever); if they are not then the software engineering is faulty.

The various ISO/British Standards listed in the guidance to the Regs cover such information.
There are about 14 or 15 parts to the ISO9241 series.
They are all very boring documents, but the info on font sizes/viewing distances are all in there.
Although as previous indicated, there should be no need to buy the Standards, unless you have a few hundred quid going spare, and nothing better to spend it on.

Don't forget the DDA implications if you have any employees who may be partially sighted.

Thanks for the replies so far.
The database is being set up with a front end screen from a Visual Basic database and so will not be adjustable at the user interface.
I am aware of the need to individually assess users, but my query was to set a reasonably acceptable start point to enable the database to go into it's first user trial phase.
