Can anyone recommend a course that is applicable to delivering health and safety training to employees (small in-house groups, covering basic h and s topics). I have heard about the CIEH training cert, am I going down the right avenue??

If its just basic stuff - you'll probably find it cheaper to DIY. I did and it was really enjoyable - and a great way to get staff on board with you.

Yes Paula, may have been the way I posed it.
I am looking for a course that I can take so I am competent in training basic h and s topics in-house.
I have seen some train the trainer courses but wondered if there was anything more health and safety related?

Hi DW
Even though she admits to probably having misunderstood the question, Paulas' answers are probably not far wrong in essence.
There are several "Train the trainer" courses about but most assume that the attendee already has the necessary level of knowledge to present the topic desired.
You therefore need to address two seperate but linked issues;
Are you technically competent to present the topic - do you have sufficient knowledge &/or skill in the subject?
Are you sufficiently competent as a presenter?
Being good at one does not automatically make you good at the other!
May I suggest that a thorough read of HSG65 would yield some very useful pointers and that there are a huge variety of basic "Trainer/presenter" courses available starting at the bottom end with a 3/4 day course to provide the minimum presenter skills.
I know that this is probably not the answer that you wished for; but it is, in my opinion, the only answer that can be provided to the question as asked and in this forum.

Haven't you guys got homes to go to - It's Friday. I'm at home waiting for dinner.
