Please could anyone help
We have 1 person who works off site, they visit different locations advising suitability of our products. Please could anyone advise of procedures that are to be taken in the training of this person (they were at a farm last week and at a tall structure - which is still in the process of being built - the week before.) How can these be risk analysed when there is such a diverse scope?

You'll need to rely to some extent on the person doing risk assessment themselves. It depends on the amount and duration of visits, but if there are alot and they don't last long, then assessments will need to be fairly informal and carried out by the person alone. So the core training will be in risk assessment, but the person will also need to understand the sorts of hazards to look out for. For longer or particularly hazardous visits, you could provide more formal assessment and support.
It's a tricky balance to carry out suitable and sufficient assessments without eating too much into the main business of the visits.
Off the top of my head, also consider the planning of visits so that your office knows where the person is, first aid and reporting of accidents, and consider asking sites in advance about their own safety management (though this might be pointless for farms etc).
