Posted By M MacDonald Hi, What are the basic requirements that a company's health & safety officer should meet? I have found 2 courses/qualifications (ISOH and NEBOSH) but am not sure which one they would need or both?? Many thanks, Michelle

Posted By Allan St.John Holt Michelle, If you give your email address you will find that you get more responses - several people will write to you direct with information. The question you ask isn't an easy one to give a short answer to. Allan

Posted By Tom Clark They don't need any paper qualifications. Knowledge, training, experience and working ability proved by self-improvement. I know of many with lots of paper qualifications, but alas no idea how to convert that 'knowledge' into effective use. Look forward to responses.

Posted By M MacDonald Thanks for these replies. I have decided to re-word my original question. The person who will be taking over the role as Health & Safety Officer was previously in this position a couple of years ago - what training would you recommend as a refresher. Many thanks, Michelle
