Posted By Melanie Black I am a little confused as to whether these regulations have actually come into force yet. I thought they were due to be brought in in late 2004, but the latest info I've been reading says they will come into force in early 2005! I'm sure many of you know the answer to this, and I would be really grateful if anybody could clarify things for me. Many Thanks in advance, Melanie.

Posted By Edward H I had heard that they were on the Ministers desk awaiting signature. I think HSE has given a general commitment that it will only introduce new legislation twice a year, in April and October so presumably they are aiming for April... however the cynic in me bets that with an election campaign imminent the minister will avoid signing anything until after the election in order to minimise the risk of annoying a voter or two.

Posted By Steven Taylor Mel They are due for signing in the next coouple of weeks and go before parliment to be accepted ready for April. If there is any opposition then they will be delayed until October and as already mentioned the general election will be coming so your regs wont. You might as well make a copy of this thread and post it again this time next year.
