A Friend of a friend has asked me if i could carry out some risk assessments at his pub. Whilst i am an experienced assessor I do not have any experience in this environment apart from the opposite side of the bar!!
Should i train the landlord to carry out the assessments himself?
If i carry out the assessments myself will i be leaving myself open to certain problems?
Can anyone advise on where i can obtain information on the pub industry?
Much appreciated to anyone who can advise.
Richard.

Richard,
You need to be careful. I have been asked to carry out inspections etc. previously and refused.
The reason for this is that I have no professional indemnity insurance and the cost of obtaining insurance ouweighed the income from the work.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Neil

I'm always doing assessments in areas I'm unfamiliar with. You just have to work closely with the people involved and learn. The real problem is, as Neil said above, the liabilities.
