Posted By Malcolm Chambers This may have been discussed previously but I have put out a ladder checklist which states that the ladders must be checked by a competent, qualified employee. The question has now been asked "what qualifications do I need?" We are a small company with a few ladders that are occasionally used for access. Can anyone help please?

Posted By J Knight Hi Malcolm, I don't actually know, but suspect that experience and suitable guidance is more inmportant than qualifications; certainly that's what I look for in ladder inspectors here. However, don't take my word for it (cos I've already said I don't actually know), contact these people for a more definitive answer http://www.ladders-blma.co.uk/ ; this is the url for the British Ladder Manufacturers Association, and it has a link to contact them plus useful guidance on RAs for ladders, John
