Posted By Eric Burt Does anyone have a checklist for health and safety considerations during industrial action? I am half way through putting one together and have covered fire considerations as well as first aid. I'm happy to share it when it's finished so e-mail me direct if you want a copy. Thanks, Eric

Posted By Jonathan Breeze Eric, Any luck on this one yet? I'm currently trying to address the same question. We should have sufficient staff available to run a reduced service, though it's hard to say until on the day. I'll e-mail you tomorrow from work.

Posted By GeoffB Eric When you say industrial action - does that mean you intend starting work soon? I know just what it is like in those LAs! Geoff

Posted By Eric Burt Geoff I work 23 hours a day, without a break, eat a handful of hot gravel for lunch, sleep in 'paper bag in middle of road, and then pay the Council for the priviledge of working for them! And yes..... I DO consider myself lucky! Luxury! ;-) Eric

Posted By John Allen Only 23 hours a day? I used top lie in my bed at night and dream of only working 23 hours a day. That’s if I’d had a bed and been able to lie in it. We used to get up and go to work before we went to bed, eat one small piece of COLD gravel once a fortnight and be beaten to death by the foreman every day for breathing without permission. And yet they were happy days!

Posted By Dave Skipsey Hi Eric If your posting refers to planned industrial action in regard to local authority pension scheme you may want to hold fire on your work. It looks like the strike may not take place after negotiations with ODPM. If not you may want to consider maintaining building security arrangements, having sufficient "trained" staff to deal with frontline services, support mechanisms for staff crossing any picket lines etc Regards Dave
