Posted By Lynchy How Do All I managed to download today the new Work at Heights Statutory Instrument from HMSO - but if anyone recalls, a couple of weeks ago it seemed to be the case that the new regulations wouldn't be coming into force until October due to the General Election. Put me straight someone - are they in or are they not?? Lynchy

Posted By Heather Aston Lynchy Although the "coming into force" date is clearly stated on the SI as published on the HMSO site, I can see the reason for your question. The HSE site still links to the draft regs as published last year, which still say WAH 2004. Additionally although HSE have already issued a press release on new explsives regs - which don't come into force until later in the month - there's nothing on their Press Office section about WAH. Almost as if they weren't quite sure until the last minute? Heather

Posted By David Hurst Hi Just a quick note - I spoke to the HSE Info line yesterday regarding publishing guidance on WAHR. I was told that the HSE wouldn't be publishing an ACOP but would be providing "guidance leaflets". These will be available online at the HSE site by the end of this week. David

Posted By Lawrence Hughes new info on the hse website http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/fallindx.htm first item, new guidance on WAHR2005 indg401.pdf looks like it's the regs summarised into plain english, not much progress towards ACOP but better than nothing and could be a useful as introduction for management or for generating powerpoints.
