We are in process of commencing with the implementation of ISO 14001, as all you eco buffs out there know, the most time consuming part of the process is the initial environmental review.
Have used proprietory software (Greencode) in the past for this process, however my employers budget is a little tight and unable to stretch to buying the software required.
Has anyone developed an electronic database or spread sheet or even something for recording ISO 14001 identification of EMS aspects/impacts?
It may look like I am being a little canny (if not lazy here), but the thought of developing reams and reams of manual reports identifying aspects and their applicable legislation fills me with dread (and thats before we start auditing to find the strengths and weaknesses in order we can develop our planned objectives & targets)
On the other hand, if someone has simplified this process without the use of software and databases, then your comments are also welcome
Yours in anticipation

Hi Alexander,
if you e-mail me at work I'll forward a copy of our aspects / impacts analysis which I put together and think quite easy to follow and also makes it quite easy to identify any processes, etc. which may affect the env.

We're in a similar position to Alexander, in that I've started work on our EMS but feel a bit daunted by the process of impact/aspect assessments.
If there is a tried & tested method of logging, I'd welcome the opportunity to share information - I don't have access to a huge budget so some kind of spreasheet that could be adapted would be a help - otherwise it's very un-environmentally friendly paper forms and hours of wondering what I've missed!

Hi Alexander
I have an Excel spreadsheet that you can have for recording your aspects/impacts. It will also help you to identify your significant aspects.
I've emailed it to you direct.
Regards
Martin
