Posted By Roger the Dodger Since the repeal of the Abrasive Wheels Regulations, there is no requirement for mandatory abrasive wheels training either new or refresher. The training requirements comes from the PUWER regs 8 & 9 Information, Instruction and training. Then of course the sweeping training requirements in the management regs and under the 1974 Act.

If you have fully complied with the training, my advice would be to continue with the update information route i.e. tool box talks by supervisors - its not just the attendance at courses but demonstrating competency and supervision. Are they doing 'repeat' type work or moving into higher risk areas? They might need refresher training if they are very infrequent users of equipment. Can you verify by inspections and auditing that they are working safely? Ask them if they what safety training they need? Ask them to explain the key safety points of their actual work?
