Posted By el nino If anyone has any presentations, standing risk assessments or training material can they please send it to me free of charge? I like this discussion group but I feel that the above type of request appears slightly too often as a thread. Anyone feel the same way? El Nino

Posted By Zoê Maybe it does but does it matter, it can't hurt to ask? Don't get me wrong, it does matter if one company is just using another companies risk assessment or training as it needs to be tailored to each companies needs. That said, I think it's nice to know if you're stuck for something, others will help you out. I've never asked for anything but I would usually try to help those who did with info, links or emailled training packages etc.

Posted By el nino Zoe This is a discussion forum. Maybe we should have an "ask for stuff" forum. El Nino

Posted By Daniel Stonehouse if we do get a "send me some free stuff" forum, will they charge us to post a message on it?

Posted By el nino Pete Zoe hit it on the head. EL Nino wonders if people simply take stuff and use it without making sure it is fit for purpose in their business. Also, El NIno thinks some of these requests sound very lazy. El Nino is proud to research and develop his own stuff and doesn't see why other members can't do the same? If they are not qualified to prepare the stuff should they really be using it? Daniel / Richard I thought the only thing that IOSH charged for was their very reasonable annual memberships? El Nino

Posted By Daniel Stonehouse i think in fairness to el nino there are many places in which information can be found on the internet, indeed there seems to be a veritable plethora of knowledge on just about everything! How reliable these sources are is of course open to question, though it could be possible that not everyone on this site is who they say they are ( i am actually only eight years old). I think that sometimes it could be more productive for people to search previous discussions as often they have covered the subject already.(actually i am 33).

Posted By Robert S Woods If we din't share stuff we'd all have to do more work leaving us with less time to put postings on this forum asking for free stuff. Then where would we be? One question I've never dared ask is who produces the the stuff we scrounge off each other in the first place? Health and safety elves I reckon.

Posted By shaun mckeever The new PAS 79 has just been released and I am about to embark on some work to ensure my fire risk assessments will be in line with the recommended standards. I anticipate spending several hours (of my own time) getting it right. If any of my competitors would like me to send them a freebie after all the hours work I have put into it then by all means contact me for a rapid response!
