Posted By michael nelson We act as Employers Agent and advisors to this Client. Negotiations are currently underway with a German Contractor to undertake and manage a large project here in the UK. CDM will apply to this project and the Client has obligations in repect of this appointment i.e. competent and adequately resourced contractor. I would like to hear from members who have been involved in similar circumstances and who could offer advice on how we can assist the client in meeting their obligations and also guiding the contractor accordingly.

Posted By Rakesh Maharaj Michael, I have worked with a number of such projects involving European or other foreign subcontractors. I have undertaken, in some of these cases, 3rd party accident investigations and root cause analyses of either fatalities or serious injuries involving British and foreign nationals. I am therefore aware of the pitfalls of such arrangements and more importantly, advise on how they may be overcome. Due to the confidentiality surrounding these, I am not at liberty to discuss them in detail, however you are most welcome to email me to initiate a general chat. Kind regards Rakesh
