Posted By Steven Mellor I've just looked at the safety issues concerned with a loading bay which has a wall on one side and is open (unimpeded) on the opposite side. One of the risks is obviously of persons being trapped at the lower point of the bay by vehicles. Would an escape route be required as the loading bay is open on one side i.e. would this serve as 'the' escape route or would another route or refuge be required at the opposite side which is enclosed by the wall? Any help greatly appreciated. Steve

Posted By Roger the Dodger Guess it will be down to risk assessment, development of your safe system of work and staff training and instruction on that system of work.
