we are a medium sized construction company and we undertake all inhouse health and safety including health and safety plans, in this we have been chas approved etc and it has been commented on how good we are at health and safety in the past, recently upon carrying in out a construction phase health and safety plan, the planning supervisor has claimed our plan is illegal, after this we investigated intensively and me and various safety practitioners cannot see the problem, does any one have a Astar H & S plan we could compare it to.

Perhaps you could give us more of an idea of exactly what the Planning Supervisors concerns are??

Ask your ever helpful Planning Supervosr to be specific in which parts are 'illegal'.
Seems an odd comment to make to me.
Also, does the PS have a CDM H&S Plan checklist that they could give you as guidance?
Generally speaking, the client will ask the PS to 'comment' on the content that you submit, but they're usually a little more forthcoming than this.
If you need a couple of checklists I could fax them to you, and maybe even send a copy of oune of our completed H&S Plans,
Steve

Appendix 3 of the Approved code of Practice to the CDM regulations gives topic headings to be addressed in both the Pre-construction and Construction Phase Plans.
THis information is printed in the Acop in bold therefore is part of the Approved Code.
I would check that you have addressed the topics listed and if you are happy that you have complied ask the PS to be specific.
We once had a PS who tried to prevent the work starting because the site managers grammar wasn't perfect.
Hope this helps
