Posted By Charlotte Snow I wish to take some integrated sampling of methyl ethyl ketone, which has a WEL asigned to it over both a long term and short term exposure. Whilst there is much literature on the process and the different types of sampling, I am unable to find out 1. Can I do this inhouse? 2. If so, where can you buy the sampling equipment - cannot find much on the web. 3.If cannot be done in house, who do you contact? 4. should they be on an "approved" list of some sort? Any ideas, thoughts would be welcome. best wishes Charlotte

Posted By Roger the Dodger Try Draeger or SKC who both make sampling equipment and/or stain tube detectors.

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Charlotte As with all matters in health and safety, you can do it yourself if you can demonstrate that you are competent. If you cannot, then you need to use someone who is (an occupational hygienist, preferably). As suggested above, you can purchase the wherewithals from people like SKC. If you need help, I am an occupational hygienist as well as a safety advisor; call me on 01905 353500. Paul Leadbetter MIOSH RSP LFOH
