Can anyone recommend a good manual handling video? One that covers how injury is caused, assessment, good vs bad technique and provides lots of examples would be grand.
Thanks in advance.

I use Safe lifting and Manual Handling by the
Fire protection Association.
This was part of a pack which were discounted for multi purchase.
I covers all points very well.

I use 'Childs play' by RoSPA as a confirmatory DVD following my manual handling awareness briefs. They have not yet (to the best of my knowledge, anyway) included it in their catalogue.
I find it pulls the subject matter together very well and is only 6 minutes long.
I have viewed many videos/DVDs which attempt to teach manual handling awareness from scratch, but have never found one that does the job well.
I feel videos as tuition just bore people. Best to teach it for real and use a video to confirm.
Richie.

The HSE website MAC tool case study section has got some useful video clips that I have inserted into my manual handling powerpoint , it has been well received by trainees.

The Centaur dvd/video package covers a wide range of situations. Different packages cover areas from maintenance staff to working with children in special educational needs settings.

The safety media video is very good. The only critisism is they include a bit about DSE to try to be all inclusive. Not that users don't need training but the main users of this video must be warehousing and manufacturing.
