Posted By Adam Jackson Kids under 14 are not allowed paid employment (I am willing to be corrected on that if I've read it wrong??) but does anyone know the status of under 14s and voluntary work? For example, under 14s working for a charity at the weekend, either with or without a parent there. Is that still banned as although they're not being paid its still working? Cheers m'dears Adam

Posted By Delwynne As long as they're present with their guardians permission, the number of supervisors to kiddiewinks is approriate and all the other stuff so required is in place then I can't see it would be classed as working, it's volunteering! Try appraoching the Scout or Guide movements - they must have come across this problem their members are aged from 6 years upwards and they all get involved in charitable events.
