Dear Colleagues,
We have recently had an incident reported where a member of staff sustained burns because of an LPG spillage whilst refilling the car.
Has anyone had reported any incidents like this and or has anyone issued guidance for their staff when refilling LPG.
Many thanks in anctipation.

Keith,
We use LPG cars and take the following approach.
* Staff are trained in re-fuelling LPG vehicles
* Made aware of the risk and dangers of cold burns (ie latent effects)
* instructed to seek medical attention if they come into contact with LPG
* That a 'tingling' sensation may indicate a severe burn
* First aid measures to take
* Staying away from ingnition sources (ie if the spill is onto clothing vapour could still continue to be liberated from the clothing for a period of time)
In addition we have no smoking, drinking etc and actions to take should the vehicle be involved in an accident / sustain damage etc
You might find the following of use

Hi
Not wish to highjack this threat too much. Is there any type of dual fuel car anyone one would recommend to me. My interest is peaked, but i know nothing about them.

Slightly different thread, but:
My site is in the process of commissioning an LPG truck loading facility. We're struggling to find first aid training providers who can give us some specifics on LPG-related injuries like cold burns - does anyone know of good training providers on this topic?
