Posted By stephen J Smith Mark, You need to assess the running conditions for these flt's. If there is a smooth level floor they will need a different tyre than a bumpy uneven flooring. Then you need to add in the dryness factor and decide on what speed/maneouvreability is to be used, and then the load to be carried. Some tyres may be valid for more than one use so you could find the most effective for the conditions at hand This will give you a valid assessment of the type of tyre required. regards stephen

Posted By Innes Gray They come under diffrent EU Build directive there is a class nmber for the amount of water ect that can be splashed on the truck before it will fail (stop working). This would Apply to Electric Powered Truck.

Posted By Innes Gray Tyres on forklift tend to be solid (no Air in them ) The Compound in the tyre differs starting with a softer inner moving out to a harder outer layer The only real difference is the compound i think more harder stuff tyre would last longer better suited to outdoor work.

Posted By neil prosser Hi Mark , Many forklift trucks use hard rubber tyres designed for concrete surfaces. Hard tire forklifts are inside trucks. They have no suspension, and the solid tyre have no air cushoin to absorb the shock from a defect in the working surface. If it is used on a rough surface , a hard tire truck will handle eradically. If you usa a solid tire forklift outside, the surface must be perfect and capable of supporting the load.If you use the forklift outside regularly ,use a pnuematictire forklift. The pnuematic tire spreads the load over a larger surface footprint and helps absorb the shock . .
