Posted By Dave Joyce When a Company provides fridges for employees to store foodstuffs during the day, there is a duty on the employers to ensure that the fridge temperature is within the required tolerances, but cannot remember where this is written. Also if anyone knows of any guidelines on checking frequency etc. I shall be grateful

Posted By Roger the Dodger The temperature guidance is in the Food Safety(Temperature Control) Regs - not sure this is the exact title. Anyway, fridges are normally required to be less than 8*C (but 5*C is normally used as good practice) For freezers, the minimum temp is usually -minus 18*C Go to the Food Standards Wgency website, there are a few food safety guides to download.
